I think Waterford would be happy to make any configuration you want. As it is a custom build jut like the Paramount above $$$$ is a reality no matter where you go. There are plenty of quality non sloping top tube frames to be had in the used market for cheap. I got a Waterford built 1986 Paramount SLX frame and fork for $250. While I know some can do better than that it was still a deal.

If Schwinn had survived there line up would look much like Trek. Paramount would have gone through an aluminum phase and moved to a carbon racer today. Remember PDG? It is possible they would make a high quality steel bike but those number would look much like what Waterford produces today and probably at the same price levels. Custom and niche market manufacturing has never been cheap.

I like the idea of modernizing the Paramount in the factory that produced them with the utmost quality to take the name forward. This bike is worthy of the name and it would be a shame to hang it on a wall. That bike should be ridden.

My Paramount is a bit bigger than I would have liked but still fits. The bike begs to be ridden in the drops and I can stay there with comfort for long stretches. Great bike
