I am looking for a new saddle for my bicycle, a genesis croix de fer, the old one has broken! The main use is for commuting but I also have sport cyclism in mind using it in races.
An other detail is that my sit bone distance is around 11.5-12cm. my weight about 80kg and i also like leather saddles.
So after spending hours searching on internet i have decided buying a leather brooks saddle. The conclusions are
1. Swift and Swallow are too narrow for my sit bone.
2. A Team Pro is probably a nice saddle for me although the experts say that this saddle is for max sit bone distance 11cm.
3. For my 12cm sit bone distance a B17 or a B17 Imperial with a Cutout should be a wise choice if I would ride the bicycle in a more upright position!
The questions Ι have is if a Team Pro saddle could fit to me and if it doesn't, the B17 or B17 Imperial will allow me to ride my bike in a more sporting position?
The top shape varies between those saddles, so you can't just base your choice on the width. Try them out if at all possible before buying. Wallingford Bike has a nice return policy.
