In an early set of tests the CdA jumped up unexpectedly -- then we looked around and saw that someone had opened the door to the loading dock on the far wall. We had to wait about 10 minutes after they finished using that door before the air density and air disturbances returned to their prior values.
When one does the testing, you have the track to yourself which is really cool. We are both trackies and my wife is a 3 time national champion silver medalist at worlds in pursuit in her age group. What was interesting was my wife's CdA did not change as she rode around the track. The ERO guys said it was extraordinary and she had the best on track execution of all the riders they tested. What they determined with me, is that my CdA improved as my power increased which is opposite of what happens to most riders. So they had me do a couple of laps at pursuit pace which made a difference in tweaking my position. Their theory was that for some reason, when my power goes up, my position / posture improves. Go figure.
