Does anybody realize we have about a dozen opinions here and, because saddles are such an individual thing, none of them helps the OP?
Might as well add mine: I have three B-17s on three road bikes, and love them. I have a Pro on my folder and love that less. YMMV.
Also, for what it's worth, I've found the difficulty of breaking in a Brooks to be hugely exaggerated. I'm on my sixth or seventh, and while they get better in a couple of hundred miles, they were all comfortable right out of the box. I wouldn't go near one with a hammer, or with any "conditioning" product other than Proofide. Brooks charges too much for it, but you only use a dime-sized glob once a year. Do NOT soak it down weekly.
