Ever since I certified as a welder some years ago I would never bondo a key structural weld. That takes away the opportunity to inspect the joint area. Also creates a hidden corrosion area. Both bad. What I would do is not buy the bike. A pretty weld is a good weld. An ugly weld is a suspicious weld. Plus, it shows a lack of pride in the product.
I get it. Like spouses bike beauty is in the mind of the beholder.
