I go over a lot of dirt and seriously pot holed roads in my loaded Kona Sutra. The Sutra handles quite well in these conditions, I'm even able to ride on lage stone gravel roads with 15kg of stuff in my rear panniers.

There is also plenty of tire clearence on the Sutra. Currently I'm using Schawlbe Marathon Plus 700x35 tires with SKS P50 (700x 35-45) ChormoPlastic fenders.
