IIRC from my work with an ofmega crank, I think the using the ISO tape Crank onr the JIS spindle results in the crank being not completly seated on th spindle, in effect giving some offset (didn't measure but maybe 2 mm?). Gregaz...didn't think of this before as I went a different direction.
I didn't measure exact space, but to my eye, it looked the same as before, on an Ofmega spindle.
