I always have my cheap one piece panniers on my bike. They don't separate.
Never really gave any thought to it. I always carry my camera bag with me.
Extra shirt . Snack or two. Small first aid kit, What ever else I may need.
My ride's are just for leisure, and usually a minimum of 20 miles.
