Yeah. Back in the day, Sears had Craftsman, Dunlap, and another brand I can't remember of tools in descending order of price/quality. Craftsman was uniformly high quality stuff back then. Not so today. Don't blame Sears. If the general public doesn't value and buy quality tools, Sears is going to supply what sells, leaving the niche to others.
