I agree with you 100% The OP posts about a problem asking for some constructive advice and right away people pile on him.

FWIW, I have been riding road and mountain bikes for longer than I care to remember. The chain does not slip out of the big chainring unless the FD is not properly adjusted. If the stop screw is set right the FD cannot move the chain past the big chainrig, especially in a bike only a year old.

To the OP, sorry about your mishap. Getting cut up by the chainring teeth is never fun. Go back to the shop, but I sincerely doubt they will be much help.
