I have owned the CR-2 for a year now. The same frame except, with Ultregra components and a triple. I am 6'1" and the 58" seems a tiny bit big for me. I am thinking about putting on a 100 or 90 mm stem to see how it feels.
The first bike I recieved had an issue with the seat stays, they were not put together straight. An issue the LBS caught for me. Nashbar exchanged it with no issues what so ever. As far as how it compares to highend bikes I can't say because I don't have enough experience with the others to say.
A name brand bike with similar components would cost about twice as much locally. +1 to waiting for it to go on sale I think I have seen the bike go for as little as $850 shipped. My CR-2 cost $1410 shipped. Overall I would say I am very happy with the bike and I would buy another from them.
