This. Those wheels aren't going to make you faster. Unless your present wheels are messed up, there's no functional reason to replace them. You've got a good bike. Get some more experience on it and figure out what the present wheels don't do that you want them to do, if anything. Base your requirements for new wheels on that.
FWIW, I still have and use (as backups/pit wheels) the original wheels that came on my first road bike, a CAAD9-6.
Thank you guys for all your help and advice. I bought the bike used, and the wheels and tires are not in the best shape, thats the main reason. I guess in the mean time i will keep riding and save some more (around 600) for a better wheelset. If you guys can recommend wheels in that price range, it will be much appreciated, and when i get them ill post some pics!!
