I have the fake and the real one and they both work well. For $22 compared to $80 you can't go wrong. If you are going to do solo riding, I'd suggest two for backup purposes. Another idea that I've only half looked into is a white light for the helmet and a red light for the back of the helmet. Every time I see a cyclist with lights on their head, they stand out... in a good way. I did get one of these red helmet lights:
