Cooler ride in this morning, about 6C (43F), which was nice because my waterproof shell keeps the heat in so I was nice and toasty (and a bit sweaty when I stopped at work and took the jacket off). Again, shorts and a short-sleeved jersey (underneath the coat).
Got a honk from a car coming in the other direction on the 4-lane section of the highway (so I was at least 2 lanes away). It has been the same person giving me a single honk from the same car for the last couple of weeks at about the same spot on the highway. I'm beginning to think that it is not an angry honk but a "good morning" honk because it is a quick, short honk.
I have my new Kona Sutra 2012 and I've done a bit of fiddling with the setup (seat height, etc) but I haven't attached lights and I haven't received the bottles, cages and panniers yet so I'll have to wait until next week sometime for my first commute ride. At that point, I will probably decommission my KHS Tempe 29er as a commuter, clean it up, switch the tires to fat knobbies and hang it up for next summer's rides to, from and at camp (cottage).
Forecast is for rain this afternoon but unlike yesterday's ride home, which was rain but no heavier than spray for a short while, likely it will be heavier. Monday's morning ride in is forecast to be COLD, -4C (25F) so likely, I'll don the tights and booties, but who knows, maybe I'll be a stupid Canadian (while pretending to be a tough Canadian) and not wear the tights, just shorts on my legs.
