Nice commute with warm temps. Thought about driving due to high probability of rain this afternoon, but decided to ride and drop off my commuter at the bike shop for some work. I was planning to swap the brakes for another set with more stopping power. However, I came across a great deal on a cyclocross frameset on eBay this morning and ended up buying it, so instead will get my LBS to swap all of the parts from my commuter to the cross frame. My existing commuter is a Gunnar Sport, which I like except for the long-reach brakes, which don't stop nearly as well as my bikes with canti brakes. The frame I bought is a Gunnar Crosshairs, which is essentially the same as the Sport but with canti brakes, so it should be a seamless transition. I got such a good price on the Crosshairs that I might actually make money on the deal. More importantly, the Crosshairs will be a better bike for my purposes.
