I don't know what kind of dye, but I've had good luck with magic marker.

bikebreak, that's a pretty handsome shoe for a bike shoe. I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear that in a dress-up office. I've found Shimano shoes to fit my duck feet remarkably well, too.
