my fork crown light mount is fine on its Nylon molded mount , E delux headlight..

but you are needing it out in front of your rack ,

I can see where you have troubles getting that light placed out there getting bumped .
a more compact light might not have that issue , the reflector does not have to be there
EDelux shipped outside of Germany does not need the reflector.
the one you got complies with that regulation, thats why it's so tall ..

( and happen to have a shop to make stuff ..)

better than the average Bodge.. you could have mounted it lower, ..
