when talking about restoring anything there's two types of people. this can best been seen in the world of classic cars.

type 2 takes the classic and rebuilds it with modern components. restomod. I want a 63 split window vette with a new 6.2 liter power plant, modern suspension, air conditioning, new advanced rubber compounds in the tires, maybe a deeeep metallic red.
type 1 people would kick the crap out of me for doing this.
type 2 people will line up around the corner to check out my rail.
type 3, the guy who wants the car in original livery, with just enough maintenance to keep her running well. This is the guy who had it right. Don't molest that piece of history, enjoy it. Look up Lynn Park & Dirt Bag.
My my father had a friend with a 63 vette. He was about neck deep in projects & would probably never get to it. I wanted that car so bad, still do. He's still alive & still has it, as far as I know. Maybe some day....
