I think the suspension post is a great idea.

I had an old RockShox road suspension post on th C-dale and loved it. Was going to migrate it to the new, but stock post and saddle are great. Speaks well of the Roubaix frame compliance. Our roads are REALLY bad pavement. I may get a gobbler at some point in the future.
