An update. I park at a public parking lot now and the commute is 23.2 miles round trip.
I don't think I will continue once it gets dark around 6pm or earlier.
It is tough as it is to stay away from nasty drivers in daylight.
In just 1 day, I got yelled at "that is what sidewalks are made for" and got honked 2-3 times.
Particularly nasty location is an entrance to a toll road where the last lane becomes the exit lane and I need to move to the second and only lane with fast cars approaching from behind in both.
I have started using a helmet mirror from last few days, too but it is not as good as a bar end mirror which I don't have on my commuting bike.
It is only a few days till the time change.
