everyone is different
especially in their crotchular and arsular regions
where the saddle needs to fit
this is why tensioned leather saddles are so good
they conform to your unique backside requirements
but if you want something low maintenance
and cheap
you have to try a few and see what type of shape works best
if you already have a bike with a saddle you find comfortable
then see if you can find a cheap replacement that has the same shape
for instance
on my first new mtb i got when i had my first job
had an oem saddle made by or for the avocet brand
the padding was thin and hard
but the medium width and flat profile near the back was perfect
and i hoarded those saddles for years whenever i found one available
when i could no longer find a new one of those
i found that wtb sst style saddles were also quite comfortable
and am now looking aronud for somehting cheap that is similar to that
as the original sst was discontinued
and i have never actually seen the sst revival saddle that is shown on the wtb website
