You raise a good point when referring to snobby.

I wonder if cyclists who are all geared up and look at me if they think I'm more rec than serious. I don't train but I ride about 80+ miles a week. Getting ready to head out on a 25+ mile ride here shortly.

There are some things I won't get any time soon like clipless pedals and shoes. I ride a lot to racquetball practice and don't want to take too much weight on my back so having bike shoes and having to carry extra shoes is not ideal right now for me.

I don't think it's a snobby thing but if you are thinking "snobby" maybe there are actually people who look down on others.

I am with everyone else on wear what you want. However I might point out there was a reason Bike jerseys and shorts got so popular and are no different than any other sporting equipment.
