Thanks! yes I tend to think its an '87 as well but have not been able to confirm absolutely. I really like that bike, during the week it sports road tires and a rack. I've been through a lot of commuter bikes in the last couple years and the Apex is the keeper, I've probably put at least a couple thousand miles on it in the last six months or so. Super fun and durable on intermediate trails as well.
you can determine the year by the serial number.. usually the SN starts with a letter and then a number.. that number after the first letter is usually the production year. You can generally follow the same formula for Centurion serial numbers since both Centurion and Diamondback were owned by the same company. The info to decode Centurion
