You're probably right. I guess my point is that I don't really care how light it is, empirically. It rides fast and comfortable, so that's what matters to me. I'm not racing anyone, so I'm not trying to compete in lightness.
I understand where you are at. I had the same group on a 18lb aluminum build and took it apart in favor of the steel bike. It rides and looks the way I want it to. I'm not paying bills with my riding so weight is nearly irrelavent.
