I think it's shortsighted that we expect everyone to get along in the world in the same manner given that we evolved over hundreds and thousands of generations in a world which operated one way, only to have that world change in the evolutionary time span of a lightning strike.

In so many ways it's great and life is easy, but for the brain there is so much buzz and activity and scheduling that is totally unnatural stress. One of the reasons I enjoy riding is for the quiet and relief it brings my mind.

I don't doubt there are people with actual attention disorders of all forms, but I do believe that as long as there is money to be made in the production and distribution of the cure, there's moral hazard to over-diagnose (or to keep broadening the boundaries for diagnosis).
