There is no benefit to maxing out frame size, only potential negatives. Minimizing frame size increases fit adjustment options, reduces weight, and increases ride quality/feel adjustment options (via a longer seatpost, which allows you to select and take advantage of various material properties). Additionally, minimizing frame size potentially confers a more rigid frame that better handles carrying loads and resists flexing under power.
