Until recently I had a Caad5 105 which I sold to my brother - bought it a year earlier for $500 on CL. I ride a Caad8 Optimo R5000 now with DuraAce. As nice as the Caad5 was, the Caad8 is even nicer. I bought a second Caad8, 2006 frame, in pristine condition last fall on eBay for $275 and built it up with Campy. Both ride beautifully - I have no desire to "move up".
If I pull the trigger, I might move a D/A 7800 group over to that frameset. I pieced together another great condition 7800 group that I was saving for a project.
Is there any difference between the R1000/3000/5000 framesets other than the components?
