Temps milder than forecasted this morning, mid-40s F, due to cloud cover overnight. However, it's supposed to stay chilly all day with a strong cold front moving through.

Debating whether to embark on my solo tour of the Outer Banks this weekend or wait until after the following weekend. I was all set to go about a month ago, and then the federal government shutdown hit, forcing me to cancel the trip due to all of the National Park Service campgrounds closing. The weather for the coming week is looking about as good as you can expect this time of year, but it would work out better with my job to go the following week. However, I'm afraid that the weather will turn foul if I wait another week. You are really exposed to the wind and elements on the Outer Banks, so the trip gets more and more iffy the longer I wait to go.
