1. Seems about right. If you walk in to a shop and try then buy their shoes and pedals.
But from your number 2 reply; you already have clipless shoes?

2. What kind of pedals? Double sided(SPD, Eggbeaters, etc.)? Road type(Look, SPD-SL, etc.)?

3. Then that's all that matters. Use whatever works for you. For me it's double sided clipless pedals.
