Some bike shops might be that way.
Mine seems to have the approach that IF you are riding, you'll be buying something from them. IF your bike is stuffed away in the back of the garage, you won't.
I've bought many of my tools from them. When I need a "one of", it's usually about the same price as online + S&H and I get it NOW.
Even if it costs me a couple $ extra , I DO want them to stay in business.
They do offer maintenance classes during summer.
