There are other options if the main reason is to keep the k stand in place. Here's my self made errend bike and it's k stand containment devices. The pins (actually nails) are slightly closer together then the top of the k stand. When mounting the k stand i filed small reliefs as needed to get the leg parallel to the chain stay. Andy.
