If there were no other choice, I would use something like electrical tape, but it would be removed as soon as I could get a proper rim strip.

I've had good luck with Velox, but also with some red plastic, non-adhesive rim strips. If I'm not mistaken, Performance sells Velox with the Forte' name on it.
