You need time off the bike for your body to recover and rebuild. Constantly pushing it, breaking yourself down and never recovering is counter-productive. You'll be faster and in better shape if you take a couple of days off. Also, time off the bike makes you hungry to do more.

Another option is cross training. Try running or swimming. Mix it up a bit.
