Not getting enough calories and sleep is a bad combination. I can see wanting to lose weight; however, being sleep deprived isn't the answer to anything. Sounds to me that you'd be better off with a half hour more sleep and a half hour less riding.
Take a day or two off and get some sleep. See if you feel better.
I use to commute 2 hours a day and it was cutting into my riding. I took a lower paying job with only 40 minutes of commuting on a bad day. Never regretted it.
