A friend of mine rides 10mi each way everyday, throughout the Michigan winters. He's much braver than I. For the really cold mornings, he recommended that I buy a pair of gloves that has an outer shell to protect from wind and a removable liner so that it can be dried out and/or worn separately. He said they're more expensive, but well worth it. I haven't tried them yet, so take it for what it's worth. Seemed like sound advice to me.

One such glove...
