Went from 7,000 miles a year ago to slightly under 5,000 this year, but I really enjoyed myself. First full year racing, did something like 20-25 races which was a lot considering I'm also a full time student, I'm working 40 hours a week, and I got married 2 months ago. Crashed out on the first lap of my first race of the year (not my fault, but unhurt), got dropped 3 times, and finished in the pack or better in the rest of my races. My last race of the season was my first win after 6 consecutive top 5s (all of which I was frustrated with, because in each case I made a tactical error and didn't place as well as I thought that I could), so I was very happy with my progression despite riding fewer total miles (training smarter with more intervals and recovery compared to constant steady state rides in the past). I also finished my first century in 4:40, which I was very happy with. Great season, but going out with a string of strong races means I'll be putting a lot of pressure on myself to start next season equally strong. We shall see. Can't wait for the spring!
