my real world experience has been that
just about every road bike sold in the past fifteen years
from five hundred dollar no name mail order bikes
to lightweight pro level equipment
has come with a carbon fork

this probably adds up to hundreds of thousands of bikes
ridden for millions and millions of miles
and there is not a rash of broken forks crippling people
