I was surprised to also see differences in section shape in aluminum fork legs. My Vitus' fork legs are oval at its upper section, near the fork crown, while my Alan has round section fork legs from top to bottom. I thought that the Alan fork design looks older (despite the bikes being only a year apart in age) than the Vitus fork's design when I first noticed the difference, but the Alan definitely rides much nicer than my Vitus. I always wondered if the fork design has something to do with it....
