We have the Grand Bois Cerf 26's on my wife's Erickson that won't take anything bigger, Cerf 28's on my Marinoni, and Cypres 30's on the Rambouillet, all 700C in the "standard weight". All are fabulous, certainly light enough, flats are few, and tire life seems excellent, but our annual mileage has been low the last few years because of health problems now behind us. Road buzz seems distinctly less bothersome with these when inflated reasonably. I use 85/100 with 26, 75/90 with 28, and 65/90 with 30, and could probably go lower per Berto's chart and Jan's experience. I will replace the Rolly-Poly's on the Miyata with GB 28's soon. What flats we've experienced were obvious (wire strand in a 30, thorn in a 26), but nothing from glass (yet) although there's plenty around here. The Tire Gods will probably punish me for writing that!
I've purchased them from local Seattle shops and Harris. I haven't had occasion to purchase direct from Compass since those local shops get frequent distribution from them (worked very well with the lovely, nearly invisible SKF BB in the new Marinoni build), but would have no reason not to do so. I'm fortunate to be at a place in life that I can afford these, and certainly feel that they are worth the price.
FWIW, the 26's measure 26mm wide on Mavic Reflex rims, 28's are 28mm wide on Open Pro and Open 4CD, and the 30's are 31mm wide on Velocity Synergy rims. Interestingly, the measured circumference is nearly identical for 28 and 30 according to my tape measure, but maybe that means that I should recheck the 30.
