Some buildings make you take your bike outside by 4:30pm each day (before the freight elevator shuts down for the day). This is a problem if you normally work until 6pm.

I am thinking about getting a Swift Folder. But since it doesn't fold up so small, I'm wondering if most NYC office buildings will allow it in their regular elevators, or if they are sent to the freight.

So if you own a Swift, please let me know what your experience has been with getting it into your office building.

PS- I know if I buy a Brompton, this will not be an issue. But I had a Brompton and I do not want another.

Is riding the freight elevator a problem-as it much slower and much farther away?
Guessing there is some problem with the freight elevator that makes it less convenient.
