I was hoping we'd skip winter in Georgia but it did arrive, right at freezing this morning. It takes me a trip or two every year to re-calibrate how much to wear and I was a little underdressed with just an extra jersey layer and some army surplus wool gloves I found this summer, just barely enough. It can be scary for us Southerners because you know you won't last long staying as cold as you are starting out, but you don't have a great feel for how quickly or how much you'll warm up.

I could have just worn my work clothes, warm-ups or wind-breaker over that, and skipped the shower. Didn't occur to me.
