this has never happened before. well, maybe once...

ok, the issue is getting the simplex fd to pull the chain up to the 52t ring from the 42t on my '80 pkn10. the chain either just sits there scrambling around, or it's pushed off the big ring altogether. i think the problem (one of them anyway) is that the inner cage plate of the fd is so worn away from use that the cage is effectively too wide. i was thinking i could fill the worn away portion of the plate with some product to salvage this fd. possible? is jb weld the kind of product that would work here? what are some other solutions i could try? thanks!
