as I recall,when those were used on the pull chain the spring clip grips the thread on the pull chain .

the thread is the fine adjustment so how far down the threaded shaft the spring clip grips..


if that is not functional , the setscrews on the other end clamp the cable , take up the slack .

put an inline barrel adjuster somewhere in the housing run for fine tuning to engage 2nd .

IDK what provision for that is on that with that funnel nut scheme .. S-A has a spy hole to see the axle end.

Shimano bell crank type has a different window & alignment pitch-mark set.
