Sorry to hear that! Nothing to lose to take it back,tell what the bike shop said and if they say no tug on their strings with the tear works. Did the same thing with a somewhat rare bike (not tears).In the excitment I totaly overlooked the frame damage now its the first thing I look at when buying a bike.
