My two cents — optimum chain-line on the most used cog. I've had similar questions, although I do not use the watch with any care. However, I do notice a difference when I seen the chain tracking in direct accordance with some cog. Therein is the one factor that so far keeps me from putting my SS bike back to 5 or 6 speed. (But then the seasonal wind from Mongolia arrives once again.)
