Well I did what we all thought might work. The problem is that the saddle was so old that when it dried out in the shape I wanted, there were HUGE cracks. I guess I'll have to give up and find another leather saddle. It was fun to try and if the saddle had not been 45 years old and so dry, it might have turned out differently. Picture posted.
