Well, given this post is in the Road Cycling forum and not the vintage forum, I am assuming my 1992 Trek 5200 OCLV road bike qualifies.
The 1992' Trek OCLV was the first production year for Trek's OCLV technology. I thought $2k was a LOT of money to spend on a road bike at the time. In fact, I think it was. Back in the early 90's ... it seems there were very few bikes that cost more than $2k compared to today. Shoot, today, there are a TON of options when buying new bikes >$2k! That seems to be more the 'norm' than the exception.
I have had absolutely NO troubles out of my 1st year production OCLV road bike. None in the least. I can say, though, that the old Ultegra 600 components have just about had it. I only have approx. 15,000 miles on her, but those old components are just about shot. I'm considering putting on a mix of Ultegra & Dura-Ace over the winter months and also having the frame custom-painted. Given I've had no problems to speak of, I kind of hate to put her away and buy a new bike.
