Probably over thinking this, but it's what I do.

This .. now do you have a more realistic idea?


examples to take design features from...
there used to be a plastic toe clip with a Look type cleat on the bottom .

And, currently, you can buy strap on spikes to put on the shoes you have,
to not fall on ICY SIDEWALKS ..
and so IF you are creative, Theoretically , As I see It, you might be able
to make a strap on devise with say a piece of aluminum sheet, , sawed out

and then fit a SPD R cleat and pontoon on the bottom of it ..

Generally why not just get a decent set of platform pedals and use whatever shoes you have on.

and skip the what If.. Over thinking , as you say you are prone to..

or go out to your workshop and get creative. It's a long winter and offers something to Do.
