I would be leery of having someone else glue my tires unless I was very confident in their work. Even so, the downsides of a bad glue job are painfully obvious. I agree that it is way more trouble to take off a glued tire than put a new one on! I would think the bike shop would be just as leery of the potential liability of sending out a poorly glued tire. I any case make sure to use Vittoria. I won't use anything else. There should be a discussion of long steep descents, with lots of braking softening glue!
