Bikes: 1962 Rudge Sports, 1971 Raleigh Super Course, 1971 Raleigh Pro Track, 1974 Raleigh International, 1975 Viscount Fixie, 1982 McLean, 1996 Lemond (Ti), 2002 Burley Zydeco tandem

It's a decent article and puts discs in a decent light, but again, it solves problems that most of us don't have. The picture may change when the cost difference is small and when they're common and when bikes equipped with them are common. I don't care, at least not yet.

I have a Raleigh Twenty whose rim brakes were woefully inadequate. It's a terribly heavy bike already, so the sensible thing for me was to install a drum brake front hub. I'm leaving the rear brake as it is, though it has Kool Stop shoes, and the bike now has aluminum rims.
